Zobz Stumbled out of one alleyway, and into another. He was alone, wet and scared. He had no memory of how he got here. All he knew was that he had to reach The Academy. The sounds of swords clashing together filled his ears. He looked at himself. He had slices of his arms, and his shirt was ripped. He had a terribble looking tattoo on his right hand and a chain on the same wrist. He pulled up the sleeve and the tattoo continued. It showed shadows curving around in vines until at the shoulder, there was pure black. He felt his head. He felt like he had a hangover, but this was new, because he knew he had broken his record of night without alchahol (1) He stumbled further into the alleys, looking for help...

Astoria stopped, hands on her knees, and breathing heavily. She closed her eyes for a moment and steadied her breathing. She had finally got away from the laughter and smirks of her older brothers. Would they ever just leave her alone and stop teasing her? Eh, no chance. She just sighed and headed for the Academy. Astoria blew a few strands of hair out of her face and started trudging through the alleys. She gasped as a boy stumbled into the alley way in-front of her. Her hand immediately flew to the pocket knife held in her boot. "Oh my god what happened to you?" she said running over to him deciding to take a risk but still watching cautiously.

"Pain," gasped Zobz, "Then darkness." He moved into the light revealing to all, (Including him) His eye was nearly destroyed. He could feel part of the eye dripping across his cheek, his blood pulsing faster and faster. He (accadentally) smashed up against a wall, his cheek rubbing a bloody streak across it, reaching for a weapon, but realizing none was there. "Magic or not," he thought, "I have to get a weapon." Then, he spoke aloud, "do you know where The Accademy is from here." Zobz saw all sorts of possible scenerios play in his mind, but none was as compelling as finding the accademy. Soon his knees gave way, and as he flung his arms outward, he hit a metal rod. Now he had a brace (/weapon?)

Astoria bit her lip and nodded, studying the boy carefully before reaching her hand out to help him up. "Yeah I can show you the way." she said.

Zobz stumbled along beside Astoria, one hand on his rod, and one hand on his eye. He didn't want to have to lean on someone he just met and risk (a) get eye blood all over Astoria. (b) make Astoria mad, get slashed, then get more blood on himself and Astoria, and (c) feel akward.

Astoria grabbed onto Zobz's upper arm lightly making sure he was steady and lead him towards the academy. "So who exactly are you? Are you a student at the academy?" she asked him.

"Yeah," he said knowing that his arm must've felt felt really cold. "I was walking through the alleys a while back, and must've black out or something. We should get out quick. I'm afraid there might be more in this alley than buildings and people stumbling out of them," he said remembering the creepy sword-slicing noises.

"Yeah I suppose your right." Astoria responded picking up speed slightly. "Just a little farther and we'll be at the academy." She crossed her arms over her chest and clenched her teeth, hating the creepy feeling she was getting as they walked on.

Zobz, felt a chill run down not only his spine, but his whole body, like a worm crawling in his veins, scratching it's scales against his body. His mind was instantly taken back, his eyes seeing two lives. One was with Astoria, the other in darkness. He could feel the darkness. In the darkness, was silence. This was not your normal darkness, where you impale it with only your voice. This was the kind of darkness that sucks your voice from your breath, filling the absence of noise. If Astoria had turned her head, he would have seen him smiling, not only with his eyes even though one of them was not entirely in his body, staring straight ahead.

They had finally reached the academy after what seemed like hours of torture for Astoria. "Okay we're here." she said looking over at Zobz. The strange feeling that she had gotten in the alley had still not completely gone away, but it was fading, though just not fast enough for Astoria's own comfort.

Zobz saw the academy, and the familiar sight had chilled the ice growing upon his soul. He turned fast as a shadow crept in the shadows behind him. "I have to go back in there," said Zobz. "You don't have to follow, but this thing is too close to The Academy."

Astoria shook her head and pulled her hair up into a ponytail, "No, I'm coming with you. " She pulled a silver bracelet off her wrist and bent it into a pick lock, so that she could unlock a dagger that was attached to the outside of her boot.

"Ok, I'm afraid of what's in there. I have a faint memory of an Asylum outside of sanity. You helped me, I wouldn't want you to get hurt." And with that, he started walking back into the alleys.

Astoria rolled her eyes, she appreciated the fact that he didn't want her to get hurt, but it wasn't like she was just going to stay behind. She twirled the dagger in between her fingers and ran to catch up to Zobz.

Zobz kept walking for about 10 minutes, then stopped. A thing burst out of the alleyway. It's whole body was made of swords and knives. It's torso was a long sword, it's arms were smaller swords breaking out into knife fingers. All of the body parts were connected together by (slightly) rusty hinges, and there was a bit of rust on the body. Though it had no mouth, it started to speak. "Come. I will show you what you would never see in a thousand years." "Why shoud I," said Zobz, defensivly holding his staff, rod."How can i truly know youre not connected with this," he continued, motioning to his eye. His voice had turned smooth like leather towards the creature. A darker portal opened out of a reflective piece of glass.
